HOW DOES THERMASKIRT® WORK?

ThermaSkirt® is a hi-tech aluminium alloy extrusion, with two watertight channels 'moulded' into the back. Patented connectors and covers allow it to be installed all around the room in a matter of minutes, and it connects straight onto a conventional plumbed system - just like a steel radiator. It is also beautifully made and finished, so it looks just like skirting. ThermaSkirt® is made from an alloy that is 5 times more effective at passing heat than steel, the warm water from your condensing or combi boiler (gas or electric) soon raises the temperature of the ThermaSkirt® and the room.

WHY IS THERMASKIRT® BETTER THAN A RADIATOR?

ThermaSkirt® takes up no wall space so you can maximize your living area by putting furniture where YOU want it. Also, because ThermaSkirt® heats the room from all directions at low level, you don't get drafts or hot spots such as on the ceiling - radiators heat by convection (air movement) more than by radiation. The heat goes straight up, then along the ceiling and then falls.

WHY IS THERMASKIRT® BETTER THAN UNDER FLOOR HEATING (UFH) ?

There's no doubt that UFH gives a nice even heat, and feels great under a tiled floor. However they can be expensive to install and can often take a long time to warm up. Many of us have busy lives, and therefore don't want to have to put the heating on when we're out just so it's nice when we come in. We want a system that reacts in minutes after arriving home. UFH also requires considerable control equipment to function properly. ThermaSkirt® heats a room just like UFH - from all over and at low level. Warm feet, comfortable body and a cool head, for a fraction of the cost in a tenth of the time and without a degree in mechanical engineering.

WHAT OTHER BENEFITS DOES THERMASKIRT® HAVE ?

As the aluminium alloy polymer extrusion is epoxy powder coated, you get a tough, durable, mark resistant finish that you simply cannot get with a brush.You have a choice of skirting designs and standard colours (and some not so standard). ThermaSkirt® is supplied with a unique, removable colour coordinated 'caulking gasket' on the top edge. Not only does this eliminate any gaps (i.e no filling required), but when you decorate, paper or paint, you simply remove it first. You can decorate and then replace it for a perfect result. No masking, scrubbing off splashes or meticulously cutting in. Additionally, ThermaSkirt® has a removable lower cable cover which can be used to acconmodate loudpeaker, telephone and TV cables.
