You will need to take off enough of the existing tiles so you can work your way up from the eaves. Make sure you lap the new sarking felt working from the eaves upwards. Line through with the same size of timber battens at the same gauge, and then working from the eaves, put on your new tiles and clip the edges at the verge (unless you have a hipped end). Follow the tile manufacturer's recommendations for nailing which is usually dependant on location and exposure of the site. The way you put on the new tiles depends on whether the existing are single lap of plain tile types. Cheers, Nick
