Looking to build a double storey extension, but our house is built on an old landfill site. Found out that the house is built on a raft foundation(by talking to the neighbours). Would it be possible?
yeah its possible, you need to speak to a architect/structural engineer as it will need to be piled
the cost of piling depends on the depth they have to drive the piles into the ground and then fill with concrete, the strip concrete foundation for your new extension then sits on top of these piles to support the weight
